A New Benchmark for Retail Engineering and Execution Quality.
The developed façade signage system was adopted across Birla Opus Experience Centres.

Birla Opus
Precision-led ACP Louver Signage Execution Across Experience Centres

Birla Opus required the development and execution of a premium façade signage system for its Experience Centres using black ACP louvers with precise dimensional specifications.
The objective was to create a visually seamless façade system that aligned with the brand’s premium retail environment while maintaining execution feasibility and long-term finish quality across locations.
Existing market references for similar executions relied largely on non-ACP materials such as powder-coated pipes and MDF strips, resulting in inconsistent finishing, visible detailing limitations, and lower durability standards. Execution using ACP at this level presented significant fabrication and detailing challenges with limited proven references available.
Metamorph established a precision-led retail engineering approach focused on prototyping, material feasibility, controlled detailing, and scalable execution to develop a façade system that could maintain consistency across future experience centre rollouts.
Execution
Execution challenges emerged during the fabrication stage, particularly around achieving a continuous black surface finish across the ACP louver system.
Manual grooving of black ACP for custom louvers created precision and finishing challenges during fabrication. Once assembled, silver edge exposure became visible at the base and joints of the louvers, interrupting the intended seamless façade appearance and affecting overall visual continuity.
To validate feasibility and understand execution behaviour under real conditions, a working ACP louver prototype was fabricated. The prototype stage allowed edge visibility, finish quality, and assembly detailing to be tested before rollout execution.
A controlled design intervention was then developed to eliminate visible edge exposure. The façade system was engineered with 40mm border closures across all sides, supported by refined 3D detailing that maintained a continuous black surface appearance after installation.
Material specifications for logo integration were also standardised to ensure brand consistency across locations while maintaining compatibility with the façade system.
The first execution was completed at the Worli Experience Centre, after which the system was scaled across Birla Opus locations through SOP-driven execution, aligned vendor coordination, and controlled production detailing.

Outcome
The final execution delivered a premium ACP louver façade system with refined detailing, controlled finishing, and complete edge concealment across installations.
The project established a scalable signage execution system capable of maintaining consistency across multiple experience centres while preserving the intended premium brand aesthetic.
The execution reinforced Metamorph’s capabilities across retail engineering, prototyping, material detailing, and precision-led signage execution.
The developed façade system also established a new execution benchmark adopted across Birla Opus Experience Centres.
Closing
Premium retail signage systems depend on more than design intent alone. Execution quality is ultimately defined by how materials behave during fabrication, assembly, and installation under real conditions.
Across the Birla Opus Experience Centre rollout, execution moved from concept references to a controlled engineering system where detailing, prototyping, and material precision worked together to deliver scalable façade consistency across locations.
